Focus on Frontline Regions: A New Stage of BDO’s Participation in EBA Initiatives

At the threshold of 2026, important personnel and strategic changes took place within the activities of the European Business Association (EBA) in Dnipro. Vira Savchenko, the CEO of BDO in Ukraine, was elected a member of the EBA Dnipro Coordination Council for 2026.

Having served on the Council and as Co-Chair of the EBA Ukraine Recovery Committee for nearly 3.5 years, she is shifting her professional focus closer to the practical needs of businesses operating in frontline territories.

Within her new role, the key priorities for 2026 have been defined as:
  • Identifying and advocating the use of practical tools to support businesses in frontline regions
  • Participating in the development of solutions for regional business challenges
  • Strengthening cooperation between business associations and local self-government bodies at the level of practical decision-making.

Vira Savchenko emphasises that the first specific step has already been taken:

“The EBA Ukraine Recovery Committee, with the support of BDO in Ukraine and its partners, has prepared and published a practical guide on how businesses can document damage caused by hostilities and apply for compensation. The document contains clear instructions on everything from recording initial damage to the legal mechanisms of compensation, and also covers tax, HR and state support tools.”

The material also includes an overview of state support programmes and a checklist to help managers prepare documents and policies. Designed to help companies act systematically in times of crisis, it is informational in nature.

The guide is available in Ukrainian and English on the EBA website.

An updated White Paper on supporting businesses in frontline regions is also planned for the beginning of 2026. The document is in its final stage of preparation and reflects the current reality of doing business in Ukraine — taking into account regional context and practical challenges.

The renewed EBA Dnipro Coordination Council for 2026 comprises representatives from some of the region's leading companies. Together, they will shape the agenda and initiatives for developing the business environment.

BDO in Ukraine will continue to play an active role in Ukraine recovery processes, supporting the idea that economic resilience is built through a combination of nationwide strategies and targeted, regional, practical solutions for businesses.
